I would like to share this with everyone because this is a spiritual journey that will change your life forever. This write up was inspired by my older sister Angela Silverio Cardenal – thank you for introducing this into my world and not giving up on getting me to attend the art of living. ❤

Our lives are a result of the thoughts in our mind. How can we make this law work for us so we can create the lives we want? By learning to Meditate. Just as important it is to stay healthy,exercise, and keep your body in shape it is just as important to keep your mind healthy as well and How do we achieve this ? Through meditation. For those of you who don’t know what this is ; I will list down the basics and the benefits of meditation including how it can transform you way of life completely !

Are you seeking calmness, peace of mind, joy, vibrant health, greater energy, positive relationships and fulfillment in life? Do you wish to be stress-free and worry-free?

You can enjoy all these benefits and much more, with meditation. Meditation offers innumerable benefits for your body, mind and spirit. The rest you gain in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep. The deeper your rest, the more dynamic your activity is.

De-stress with Meditation

Meditation has two important benefits:

Meditation prevents stress from getting into the system
Meditation releases accumulated stress that is in the system
Both of these happen simultaneously, leaving one refreshed and joyful.

Physical Benefits of Meditation

With meditation, the physiology undergoes a change and every cell in the body is filled with more prana (energy). This results in joy, peace, enthusiasm as the level of prana in the body increases.

On a physical level, meditation:

Lowers high blood pressure
Lowers the levels of blood lactate, reducing anxiety attacks
Decreases any tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems
Increases serotonin production that improves mood and behavior
Improves the immune system
Increases the energy level, as you gain an inner source of energy .

Mental Benefits of Meditation:

Meditation brings the brainwave pattern into an Alpha state that promotes healing. The mind becomes fresh, delicate and beautiful. With regular practice of meditation:

Anxiety decreases
Emotional stability improves
Creativity increases
Happiness increases
Intuition develops
Gain clarity and peace of mind
Problems become smaller
Meditation sharpens the mind by gaining focus and expands through relaxation
A sharp mind without expansion causes tension, anger and frustration
An expanded consciousness without sharpness can lead to lack of action/progress
The balance of a sharp mind and an expanded consciousness brings perfection
Meditation makes you aware – that your inner attitude determines your happiness.

The art of living offers a course where they teach you simple breathing techniques that you can incorporate in your daily routine. It took my older sister years to try to get me to go ! But finally at the right time, I was able to experience it and I am forever great full for what it thought me. When you perceive the world as a part of yourself, love flows strongly between the world and you. This love empowers you to bear the opposing forces and the disturbances in your life. Anger and disappointments become fleeting emotions that occur momentarily and then vanish. You start living in ‘the moment’ and let go of ‘the past’.

There is an art of living center in The philippines, and they hold courses once a month. Before I end this write up I would like to share with you a poem written by the founder of the art of living – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar . “PROMISE”

If I had to promise you something, what would it be?

I can’t promise that you would always be comfortable…
Because comfort brings boredom and discomfort.

I can’t promise that all your desires will be fulfilled…
Because desires whether fulfilled or unfulfilled bring frustration.

I can’t promise that there will always be good times…
Because it is the tough times that make us appreciate joy.

I can’t promise that we will be rich or famous or powerful…
Because they can all be pathways to misery.

I can’t promise that we will always be together…
Because it is separation that makes togetherness so wonderful.

Yet if you are willing to walk with me,
If you are willing to value love over everything else ~

I promise that this will be the most rich and fulfilling life possible.
I promise your life will be an eternal celebration,
I promise you I will cherish you more than a king cherishes his crown,
And I shall love you more than a mother loves her newborn.

If you are willing to walk into my arms,
If you are willing to live in my heart,
You will find the one you have waited forever….
